Steps

Each formula is already filled in and calculated. Edit it and press Run to try your own version. Nothing is saved or uploaded.

  1. Start with a simple question: is Omar’s Maths score at least 60?

    ResultTRUE

  2. IF turns that yes or no into words.

    ResultPass

  3. Use an average of all three subjects instead.

    Result63.3

  4. Combine them: pass if the average is at least 60.

    ResultPass

  5. For letter grades use IFS. The first true test wins, so go from the highest.

    ResultC

  6. Find the class average for Maths to compare.

    Result73.6

What to remember

IF handles two outcomes. IFS handles several, in order, and TRUE at the end catches everything else.
